February 22, 2010 - International Hockey League 2 (IHL 2) - Flint Generals News Release

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals rookie forward John Mori was named IHL Player of the Week for week nineteen of the 2009-10 season. This is his sixth IHL/Meijer award in recognition of his hard work on the ice.

Mori was held off the scoreboard Friday at Perani Arena against the Dayton Gems but more than compensated in the following two games of the weekend.

In Saturday's game at Muskegon, the 23-year old from Westport, CT netted his firs professional hat trick scoring one even-strength unassisted goal, one power play goal, and one shorthanded goal (his fifth of the season) that proved to be the game winner. He also assisted on the other two Generals goals for a total of five points on the night.

Sunday Mori added a fourth goal and third assist in game two against the Lumberjacks bringing his weekend total to 7 points.

The Generals resume action Wednesday when they head west to L.C. Walker Arena to face the 'Jacks for the third time in as many games. They return home Friday for a matchup with the Bloomington PrairieThunder.
