Omaha Lancers News Release
Ralston, NE - The trend of former Lancers returning to Omaha continued Tuesday as the organization announced the addition of former players Chris Hepp, Drew Conboy, and Dakota Eveland to the staff, and former scout Keith Sullivan to the staff in various roles.
Hepp joins the organization as a scout. The defenseman played for the Lancers from 2004-08 and was the captain for the 2008 National Championship Lancers team. Hepp recorded 36 points (9g, 27a) from the blue line during his tenure with the Lancers. After the Lancers Hepp spent three seasons with St. Cloud State before playing two years with the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL.
Conboy also joins the organization as a scout. Another member of the 2008 National Championship team Conboy amassed 88 points (42g, 46a) in two seasons with the Lancers. The Burnsville, MN native recently finished up an eight-year pro career that saw time in the AHL, ECHL, CHL, and EIHL.
"We're really excited to bring Chris and Drew back into the fold," said head coach and general manager Brian Kaufman. "Both these guys know what it takes to win at this level. More importantly they know the type of kids that we want to be a part of this organization, and I know they can help us find players who fit the Lancer mold."
Keith Sullivan also rejoins the Lancers scouting staff. Sullivan had a hand in helping put together the 2008 championship team. Since leaving the Lancers he has spent time working for the Jets, Coyotes, and most recently the Boston Bruins as an amateur scout.
Another piece of the 2008 championship team, Dakota Eveland, is also returning to the Lancers as a skills instructor. The Anaheim, CA native spent three seasons in Omaha, wrapping up his USHL career with 59 pts (20g, 39a) in 59 games during the 2009-10 season. Eveland spent two seasons at Colorado College before a career-ending injury jump started his coaching career.
"Dakota brings a lot to the organization and we're really excited to have him back," said Kaufman. "He knows what it takes to be successful at the next level, and is going to do a great job helping our players continue to improve and prepare themselves to be elite players and the college level and beyond."
