Pittsfield Colonials News Release

RAMAPO, NY - Pat Moran and Casey Hodges both pitched through the eighth innings, but Moran was just a bit better as the Pittsfield Colonials rounded out the first half with a 4-2 win over the Rockland Boulders.

Pittsfield got things off to a hot start in the top of the first inning as Jerod Edmondson led off the contest with his fourth homer of the year. The Colonials weren't done there, though, as both Quentin Davis and Danny Bomback singled in front of a Johnny Welch double, scoring Davis to put Pittsfield up 2-0. A groundout by Angel Molina scored Bomback to cap the first inning runs. Pittsfield would get a fourth run during the second inning on a groundout by Quentin Davis, plating Scott Knazek.

Rockland would score a run in back-to-back innings in the third and fourth on a groundout and a single by Ryan Mollica to cut the lead to 4-2.

After those runs were on the board, both starters put the game into cruise control. Pat Moran (5-3) earned the win, allowing just three hits over 8.1 innings. Over a span of 30 batters faced, Moran allowed just five balls to reach the outfield. Mike Zenko retired the final two batters of the game for his third save.

Casey Hodges (3-5) took the tough luck loss for Rockland. After surrendering a hit to Chris Torres with no outs in the second before retiring 17 of the next 18 hitters he faced into the seventh.

Pittsfield now returns home to begin the second half with a four game series against the Quebec Capitales. Sunday is Get Up And Move Day with a 2 p.m. first pitch scheduled from Wahconah Park. At 11:30, there will be an hour long ZUMBA class on the field. The ZUMBA class is $10 or free with the purchase of a game ticket. MacKenzie King (1-2, 6.86) will get the start for Pittsfield.
