Halifax Mooseheads' general manager Marcel Patenaude announced today that the Mooseheads have restructured their scouting setup and added long-time hockey executive Bill MacLean to the scouting staff.

Bob LeBlanc will retain his Chief Scout portfolio and will oversee the Mooseheads scouting program, but will now concentrate his scouting duties to the Maritime Provinces, United States and Europe.

Sylvain Brunelle will become the Mooseheads' Quebec Scouting Coordinator and will be responsible for scouting the various leagues within the Province of Quebec as well as overseeing the activities of the Mooseheads' other Quebec scouts.

"Sylvain has been with the Mooseheads since I came to Halifax and has proven to be an excellent judge of hockey talent," Patenaude said. "He deserves to take on a more prominent role in our scouting department."

Bill MacLean joins the Mooseheads' scouting staff with a strong hockey background. He is currently the President of the Halifax McDonald's Major Midget Hockey team and recently scouted for the Quebec Remparts. MacLean will continue to serve as the McDonald's President. His scouting duties for the Mooseehads will cover the Halifax Metro area.

"We are pleased to welcome Bill MacLean to our team," Patenaude said. "He brings a wealth of scouting and hockey experience to our scouting department. We were very happy that Bill has become available. We feel the changes we have made in our scouting department will have a positive impact on our hockey team."
