Halifax Mooseheads News Release
Something old is a new again in Moose Country.
The Halifax Mooseheads revealed a new alternate jersey on Thursday which pays tribute to the original jersey design from when the team first hit the ice in 1994.
"The 94's" are a predominately red jersey which incorporates green, white and red diagonal striping along the bottom and sleeves that long-time fans will fondly remember.
The Mooseheads will debut the nostalgic new look on home ice in both games this weekend as they play host to the Drummondville Voltigeurs tonight and the Gatineau Olympiques tomorrow night. Both games at Scotiabank Centre will start at 7pm.
Fans will have the opportunity to purchase "The 94's" starting tonight at all in-game kiosks while they will also be available online on Saturday at MooseShop.ca.
"We are truly excited about this announcement today and the launch of our "94's jersey". In speaking with both the business, hockey staff, and gathering fan feedback, it was unanimous on the need to bring back a red jersey that is a tribute to the club's history. Every detail was carefully thought through, ensuring a true retro look, and we hope everyone is as happy as we are with the result." said Sam Simon, Chairman/Owner of the Halifax Mooseheads and Peter Simon, President of Simon Sports."
The Mooseheads will wear "The 94's" at select games throughout the remainder of their 30thanniversary season.
