Halifax, NS - The Halifax Mooseheads have hired power skating coach Jonah Leroux as an additional asset for the continued development of the players within the organization.

Leroux is a well-known coach within the local community and brings a wealth of hockey knowledge to the team, stemming from a lengthy playing career in the OHL that saw him appear in more than 300 games with the Oshawa Generals, Brampton Battalion, Ottawa 67's and Sudbury Wolves. He later played U Sports for three seasons with the Dalhousie Tigers.

"Jonah is a great team member to have join our staff, and we are excited to utilize his expertise and strong background to help the players and assist our staff. With an enthusiastic approach to technique and development, Leroux has grown to become a sought-after power skating coach. He will work on the ice with Mooseheads players both individually and in groups on numerous occasions each month.

"We're extremely pleased to have Jonah join our staff. He will be a welcome addition and is another example of our organization putting an emphasis on development," said General Manager Cam Russell.

Leroux is the newest member of a bolstered coaching support staff this season that also featured the hiring of Player Development Consultant Jon Sim over the summer.
