Halifax Mooseheads News Release

Halifax, N.S. - Halifax Mooseheads General Manager Cam Russell announced the hiring of a new Goaltending Coach today following the departure of Marco Raimondo.

The Mooseheads have signed Joey Perricone to take over for Raimondo who has decided to return to Montreal to focus on his Goaltending School and to be closer to his growing family. The 32-year-old Perricone will also fill the role as the Mooseheads' Video Coach. He spent the last two seasons as the Moncton Wildcats Goaltending Coach and held the same position with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies from 2014-2017.

"First of all, I'd like to thank Marco for his great work with us last season and wish him the best of luck moving forward," Russell said.

"I feel we are very fortunate to get a Goalie Coach of Joey's quality. His experience both in this role and as a player will be a great addition to the team and our staff is looking forward to working with him."

Perricone played for the Moose Jaw Warriors during his WHL career and holds the team records for wins (93), shutouts (10) and games played (211). The San Juan, California native helped the Warriors reach the WHL Finals in 2006 and has since been named to their all-time team. He later spent parts of five seasons as a goaltender with the St. FX X-Men where he was named an AUS second team all-star in 2010-11 and completed his Bachelor's in Business Administration.

The Mooseheads will open training camp on Thursday, August 15th while the preseason schedule begins on Sunday, August 18th against Cape Breton at the Dartmouth Sportsplex.

Season Tickets are on sale now at TicketAtlantic.com, the Official Mooseheads Shop in Scotia Square Mall or call 902-429-FANS.
