Manitoba Moose News Release

The Manitoba Moose, in conjunction with the Canadian Forces, are pleased to present the annual Manitoba Moose Military Appreciation Night on March 7, 2009 when the Providence Bruins visit MTS Centre. Gametime is 7:30 p.m.

This season, the Moose and Military are pleased to announce the theme for this year's game - "Military Families: Strength behind the Uniform." Although the men and women of the Canadian Forces are dedicated to their missions here and overseas, it is often the family of the serving member who provides them with the most fundamental and strongest of support. The Manitoba Moose Military Appreciation Night serves not only to thank the military members for their contributions, but is also an opportunity to show gratitude to their families for the immense support they provide every day. As many as 1,500 service members and their families are expected to be in attendance when the Moose and Bruins tangle at MTS Centre.

The Moose and Military have many unique events planned as part of this special evening. For example, members of the Manitoba Moose will wear limited edition CADPAT jerseys that night, a replica of the pattern of a Canadian Forces Uniform. There will also be a Military Vehicle Display surrounding MTS Centre including a "LAV III".

Prior to the game, the Air Command Band will entertain fans as they enter MTS Centre at its main entrance at the corner of Portage & Donald. Later, they will perform the American National Anthem and then accompany Canadian singer and composer Loreena McKennitt for the Canadian National Anthem. There will be a special ceremonial puck drop with a video tribute before the game begins and MTS Centre Event Staff will also hand out 8,000 Thunder Sticks to fans as they enter.

Tickets for all Manitoba Moose games, including Military Appreciation Night, are still available. To get your tickets for any Moose game, please call Ticketmaster at 780-3333 or visit www.moosehockey.com.
