B-Sens Recall Goaltender Mitch O'keefe From Elmira

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators recalled today goaltender Mitch O'Keefe from the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL. The roster move came following the announcement that the Ottawa Senators placed goaltender Martin Gerber on NHL re-entry waivers.

O'Keefe, 24, has a 16-11-2 record, a 3.09 goals-against-average, a .891 save percentage and two shutouts in 30 games with Elmira this season. He posted a season-high 40 saves in the Jackals 5-3 win over Gwinnett on Dec. 16.

A native of Almonte, Ontario, O'Keefe appeared in two AHL games with Iowa in 2007-08, posting one loss and a 2.35 goals-against-average.

The B-Sens (30-20-5-3, 68 pts.) look to make it four straight wins over the Hershey Bears (37-17-0-5, 79 pts.) as the two teams face off on Friday night at 7:05 p.m. Good seats remain for this contest.
