MoonDogs Split Day-Night Double Dip with Rox

Mankato, MN - In game one of the day night double header, offense was in no short supply as the Mankato MoonDogs (18-16) would explode for 13 runs against St. Cloud Rox (18-14), winning by a final score of 13-11 at Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato, Minnesota.

The MoonDogs would tally runs in the first five innings jumping out to a 12-5 lead. St. Cloud would add six runs in the top of the eight to make it a tight contest.

Paul Pannaccione would lead the way going 3-for-5 with three RBI's, a homerun, and scored three runs. Kyle Weston added 2 RBI's while going 2-for-5. Sulliam Rios Reyes and David Metzgar would also add three hits in game one.

Rhett Rapshus (1-1) picked up his first win of the year, going six innings allowing five runs, the loss would go to Sheldon Miks (2-1). The save would go to Chris Butcher (2-0), who worked the final 1 1/3 innings.

In the nightcap of the day-night double header, it was a different story as pitching dominated for much of the game as the Mankato MoonDogs (18-17) fell to the St. Cloud Rox (19-14) by a score of 7-3 in front of a crowd of 1,040 at Franklin Rogers Park in Mankato, Minnesota.

Rox starter Reese Gregory was in command as he went six innings, scattering four hits while only allowing one run which came in the sixth inning. Gregory worked around surrendering four walks and fanned six.

MoonDogs starter Reece Eddins had a strong showing as he went 5 2/3 innings only allowing three runs, scattering eight hits, while fanning four.

Brinn Bell was the lone bright spot offensively in game two as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI's.

For the Rox, Austin Athmann went 2-for-5 with four RBI's and also added a homerun. Four other Rox tallied two hits in the ball game.

The win would go to Reese Gregory (4-1), taking the loss would be Reece Eddins (0-3).

The MoonDogs will travel north of the border for a three game series against the Thunder Bay Border Cats starting tomorrow, Tuesday with the first pitch being at 6:35 Central time. Catch all the action on The FAN Mankato with the voice of the MoonDogs, Shawn Murnin.
