MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced on Tuesday the acquisition of an international roster spot for 2020, $50,000 in Targeted Allocation Money and $50,000 in General Allocation Money from Nashville SC, one of the MLS expansion clubs for 2020, in return for defender Daniel Lovitz.
"The GAM and TAM, as well as the international roster spot, will give us more flexibility for 2020," said Montreal Impact sporting director Olivier Renard. "We thank Daniel Lovitz for his three seasons with the club and wish him good luck for the rest of his career."
Lovitz signed with the Impact on February 28, 2017, after a tryout during training camp. He played 84 MLS regular-season games with Montreal, including 76 starts, scoring a goal and adding eight assists. He also won the 2019 Canadian Championship with the club.
The Impact had put Daniel Lovitz on the protected player list for the expansion draft to be able to proceed to a trade within the league.
