Montreal can't sweep home-and-home

Montreal, March 6th, 2009 - The Monteal Juniors were unable to sweep the home-and-home series against Chicoutimi on Saturday night falling 4-1 to the Saguenéens. Jake Allen turned away 27 of the 31 shots he faced in the matchup.

Jérémy Gouchie tallied the lone Junior goal in the first period on a penalty shot, to put the Juniors up by one. Chicoutimi would tie the game at one at 13:26 on a goal by Mathieu Tousignant.

With the teams tied at one entering the second frame, Sébastien Rioux and Nicolas Deschamps would each find the back of the net for Chicoutimi to take the lead at 3-1.

Unable to produce any offence in the third period, firing only seven shots at Saguenéen`s netminder François Lévesque, the Junior were unable to come from behind tonight. Chicoutimi would tally a fourth goal of the night with an empty net goal by Luc-Olivier Blain to bring the final score to 4-1.

The Juniors will play on Sunday afternoon at 4:00pm in Baie-Comeau, followed by a matchup against Rimouski on Wednesday evening. The Juniors will return home for their final two regular season home games on Friday March 13th against Rouyn-Noranda and Sunday against Val-d'Or at 4:30pm.
