SEASIDE, Calif. - Monterey Bay Football Club (Monterey Bay FC) will host and recognize during Saturday's match various local high school girls' and boys' soccer teams for the successful seasons and for their accomplishments of winning the CCS, CIF, and NorCal championships.
These teams include Everett Alvarez High School, Salinas High School, and Watsonville High School. Monterey Bay FC will honor the players' achievements during halftime of the 831 Cares Night, during the home game against San Antonio FC.
The Everett Alvarez High School boys soccer team in Salinas qualified for the Central Coast Section Division 1 (CCS DI) championship for the second consecutive year under head coach Gabriel Campos. The team has competed for the Northern California CIF title and have qualified three times to compete for the CCS DI title, winning two of those championships. With a 25-2 record, they rank among the top teams in California.
The Watsonville High School Wildcats boys soccer team once again qualified for the CCS DIII playoffs under head coach Roland Hedgepeth. In a historic feat, the Wildcats' boys' team finished the 2025-26 season as both CIF DIII Central Coast Section (CCS DIII) and NorCal champions, with a record of 22-2-2.
Meanwhile, the 'Catz, the Watsonville High girls soccer team, made history by winning their first-ever CCS Division V title following a victory in the 2025-2026 season, under the guidance of head coach Gladys Mondragon. With a record of 16-5-1, the Watsonville girls' soccer team qualified as the No. 2 seed in the California Interscholastic Federation (PCAL) NorCal Regional Championship.
The Salinas High School Cowboys also advanced to the CCS DII championship. The Salinas girls' soccer team secured its fourth consecutive victory in the PCAL's Gabilan Division.
Monterey Bay FC returns to Cardinale Stadium on Saturday, April 4, at 7:00 p.m., to face San Antonio in the USL regular season during 831 Cares Night.
