Lowell, Mass. - Keith Aucoin and Brad Zancanaro both scored twice to lead the Lowell Lock Monsters (29-37-6-8) to a 7-3 triumph over the Providence Bruins (43-31-1-5) at the Tsongas Arena on Easter Sunday to close out the season.

The goals came in bunches throughout the night. Zancanaro potted his first professional goal at 4:05 to make it 1-0. Just a minutes and a half later, Aucoin notched his 28th goal of the season to make it 2-0. The goal represented the 100th point of Aucoin's Lock Monsters career. Providence stormed back to tie it with two goals in the span of 30 seconds later in the frame. Former Monsters D Sean Curry and Nate Thompson tallied the goals for the Bruins to make it 2-2 at 15:42. Zancanaro's second of the night came soon after, and Lowell took the 3-2 lead into the dressing room.

After a slow start in the second, Lowell exploded for three tallies in the span of 1:14, midway through the frame. Ryan Steeves, Mark Pandolfo and Scott Kelman all scored for the Monsters, lifting them to a 6-2 lead. Pandolfo's goal, the fifth of the game for the Monsters, chased Bruins starter Derek Gustafson from the match. The Providence goalie entered the game with a 1.86 goals against average, but allowed five goals on 20 shots.

The two clubs exchanged third period tallies in the early portion of the stanza. Rookie Bryan Schmidt, a Merrimack College product, scored for Providence to cut the lead to three. But Aucoin buried a rebound into a wide-open net for his second of the game at 4:56 on the power play to account for the final score. The 29th of the season for the Chelmsford native appropriately closed out the scoring on the season for Lowell, as Aucoin finished the season with a team-record 85 points.

Monsters Memos: D Chris Hajt picked up three assists for Lowell, in his second multi-point game of the season... David Gove had three assists as well, giving him 10 multi-point games on the season - all of them in the calendar year 2006.

The Lock Monsters would like to thank all the corporate sponsors, season ticket holders, group leaders and everyone else for being a part of the 2005-06 season.
