Moni Tongauiha Reaches 50 Caps

On Saturday, April 16th Moni Tongauiha became the seventh player in Major League Rugby to take the pitch for 50 matches.

Tongauiha began playing rugby in high school with the Oakland Warthogs. He played Senior Club Rugby with Santa Barbara Rugby Academy and Life West before joining MLR. His first representative honors came in the fall of 2017 appearing for the USA Islanders against Saracens.

Tongauiha earned his first International cap against the All Blacks in the fall of 2021, he is Eagle #545.

Signing with NOLA Gold in 2017, Tongauiha has has scored eights tries during his Major League Rugby career.

Major League Rugby is honoring the first 50 players to reach 50 caps, and their role in building the legacy of MLR. The first six players to reach 50 caps for MLR were Angus McLellan of the Utah Warriors, Tim Metcher of the Seattle Seawolves, Sam Windsor and Dylan Fawsitt of Rugby New York, Holden Yungert of the New England Free Jacks and Nick Boyer of the Houston SaberCats.
