
JP Du Plessis Reaches 50 Caps

On Saturday, April 16th JP du Plessis became the eighth player in Major League Rugby to take the pitch for 50 matches.
JP first began playing Rugby for Reitz School in Kroonstad, South Africa. Before joining MLR in 2018, JP played in Super Rugby for the Melbourne Rebels, Stormers, and Southern Kings. Du Plessis was a part of the Legions playoff run in 2018 and MLR 2019 Championship Final showing.
Signing on to his second season with NOLA Gold ahead of the 2022 season, de Plessis has 12 MLR career tries scored to date.
Major League Rugby is honoring the first 50 players to reach 50 caps, and their role in building the legacy of MLR. The latest of the first seven players to reach 50 caps for MLR were Holden Yungert of the New England Free Jacks, Nick Boyer of the Houston SaberCats and Moni Tongauiha of NOLA Gold.
