Moncton Wildcats News Release

The Moncton Wildcats are letting "it" grow for the month of Movember. That's not a typo, and "it" is mustaches. For the month of November the players, coaches and support staff of the Moncton Wildcats are tossing aside their razors to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer.

"This is another great project to be involved with. It is important to the Wildcats organization to be able to raise awareness about issues like prostate cancer and men's health," said Bill Schurman general manager for the Moncton Wildcats.

According to the website www.movember.com the mission is to develop and deliver an exciting and creative Movember campaign that will forever change the way men think about, discuss and treat their own health issues.

All involved agree to let just their mustaches grow and collect pledges and perform other fundraising activities for the month of November. At the end of the month all the money collected goes to the Prostate Cancer Research Foundation of Canada. Fundraising activities will take place during the three remaining Wildcats home games. The mustache mania will reach a peak during the post-game show on November 30.

"I think often times men's health is an issue that gets overlooked. So much money is raised every year for breast cancer, and that is awesome, but it is nice to find a way to raise funds for prostate cancer as well," said Matt Eagles captain of the Moncton Wildcats.
