MONCTON N.B. - As the Wildcats get set to play their final two regular season home games in the Moncton Coliseum, Saturday's game will pay tribute to the American Hockey League. The players will take to the ice this weekend in replica Moncton Hawks jerseys for Saturday's game vs. the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at 7:00 p.m.

"The Coliseum has a rich 44 year history and we have been able to recognize many different teams and events throughout the season. Moncton has a long history of hockey, and the AHL occupied 16 of those years. I am sure a lot of memories will be shared during the evening with our longtime supporters and former AHL fans," said Director of Business Operations, Ryan Jenner.

These limited edition jerseys will be auctioned off online at Allen's Auction Centre, with the bidding opening Friday at 5:00 p.m. and ending Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Here is the official link to the online bidding page We will also have a limited number of specially made Moncton Hawks ball caps that we will be selling during Saturday's game only!

As part of a pre-game ceremony the team will welcome back former AHL players, staff and officials as we recognize an important part of hockey history in Moncton. The list of confirmed attendants to date includes:

Mike Kazsycki; 1981-1982 AHL MVP and top scorer, Calder Cup Champions New Brunswick Hawks

John Leblanc; 1991-1994 Moncton Hawks

Hilliard Graves; 1978-1980 New Brunswick Hawks

Denis Roy; 1991-1992 Moncton Hawks

Allard Leblanc; 1978-1979 New Brunswick Hawks

Bob Gladney; 1979-1980 New Brunswick Hawks

Victor Cormier; 1984-1985 Moncton Golden Flames

The AHL was part of Moncton hockey history for 16 seasons here at the Moncton Coliseum, representing affiliate teams for six different NHL franchises over the years. The Coliseum was home to four AHL teams during that 16 year period; the New Brunswick Hawks from 1978-1982, Moncton Alpines from 1982-1984, Moncton Golden Flames from 1984-1987 and finally the Moncton Hawks from 1987-1994. With so many hockey memories made here in the Coliseum and championships won, we look forward to sharing this AHL night with our fans on Saturday.
