LAST WEEK'S HIGHLIGHTS

vs. Adirondack (3/7): Right wing Brian O'Neill scored his first professional hat trick to lead the Manchester Monarchs to a 4-2 victory over the Adirondack Phantoms at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Friday night. Forward Nick Shore joined O'Neill on the scoreboard for the Monarchs. Forward Kris Newbury and defenseman Bruno Garvais each registered one goal for the Phantoms. Monarchs goaltender J.F. Berube (20-14-2) earned his 20th win of the season, stopping 30-of-32 shots. Phantoms netminder Yann Danis (8-9-3) took his ninth loss of the season with 17 saves on 21 shots. Goaltender Carson Chubak (1-1-0) stopped all four shots faced in relief duty for the Phantoms. Manchester was 0-for-3 on the power play. Adirondack went 2-for-6 with the man advantage.

vs. Providence (3/8): Right wing James Livingston picked up two goals on his birthday to lead the Manchester Monarchs to a 4-2 victory over the Providence Bruins at the Verizon Wireless Arena as they honored fallen MIT Police Officer Sean Collier for American Pride Day on Saturday night. Left wing Andy Andreoff and forward Nick Shore added tallies for the Monarchs. Center Alexander Kokhlachev and left wing Justin Florek each scored for the Bruins. Monarchs netminder J.F. Berube (21-14-2) earned his 21st win of the season, stopping 34- of-36 shots. Bruins goaltender Niklas Svedberg (20-13-3) took his 13th loss of the season with 30 saves on 34 shots. Manchester was 0-for-3 on the power play. Providence went 1-for-3 with the man advantage.

vs. Hartford (3/9): Right wing Zach O'Brien led the way as eight different Manchester Monarchs recorded a point in their 3-2 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Sunday afternoon. Defenseman Andrew Campbell and centers Colin Fraser and Jordan Weal each collected a goal for the Monarchs. Center T.J Hensick scored twice for the Wolf Pack. Monarchs goaltender J.F. Berube (22-14-2) earned his 22nd win of the season, stopping 17-of-19 shots. Wolf Pack netminder David LeNeveu (4-8-0) took his eighth loss of the season with 22 saves on 25 shots. Manchester was 1-for-5 on the power play. Hartford went 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

MONARCHS NEWS & NOTES

The Manchester Monarchs (39-16-2-6) are ranked first in the Atlantic Division with 86 points. The St. John's IceCaps (36-19-1-3) rank second in the division with 76 points. The Providence Bruins (32-21-1-7) sit in third place in the Atlantic Division with 72 points. The Worcester Sharks (27-27-3-1) are ranked fourth in the Atlantic Division with 58 points. The Portland Pirates (21-28-2-8) sit in fifth place in the division with 52 points.

The Monarchs are ranked 28th in the American Hockey League on the power play with 35 goals on 252 attempts. Manchester is ranked 20th in the league on the penalty kill stopping their opponent 217-of-267 times.

The Monarchs have had the most success on Saturdays (17-5-0-1).

Manchester currently leads the Eastern Conference and the AHL with 86 points through 63 games this season.

The Monarchs are undefeated in regulation (8-0-0-1) in their last nine home games. Center Jordan Weal (16-38=54) leads the Monarchs with 38 assists and 54 points.

Weal is tied for fifth place in the AHL with 38 assists.

Weal is ranked eighth in the AHL with 54 points.

Weal and right wing Brian O'Neill (16-15=31) are tied for second place on the Monarchs with 16 goals each.

Weal and O'Neill are also tied for first place amongst forwards in the AHL with a plus/minus rating of plus-22 Center Linden Vey (11-26=37) ranks second on the team with 37 points.

Vey ranks second on the team with 26 assists.

Vey has also collected five assists in 18 games with the Los Angeles Kings this season.

Forward Nick Shore (13-21=34) ranks third on the Monarchs with 34 points.

Shore ranks fourth on the team with 21 assists. Left wing Tanner Pearson (17-15=32) is ranked fourth on the Monarchs with 32 points.

Pearson leads the team with 17 goals this season.

Pearson has recorded one point, a goal, in 11 games with the Kings this season. He was recalled to Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 18.

Vey has also collected five assists in 18 games with the Kings this season. He was recalled to Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 18.

O'Neill (16-15=31) and defenseman Brayden McNabb (7-24=31) are tied for fifth place on the Monarchs with 31 points each.

O'Neill collected his first professional hat trick with three goals in the Monarchs 4-2 win over the Adirondack Phantoms on Friday night.

O'Neill and right wing Tyler Toffoli (15-8=23) are tied for first place on the Monarchs with four game-winning goals.

McNabb earned his first point in a Monarchs uniform, an assist, in his Manchester debut on Friday night.

McNabb's 24 assists are third on the team.

Left wing Andy Andreoff (9-17&) is ranked seventh on the Monarchs with 26 points.

Andreoff leads the Monarchs with 115 penalty minutes.

Toffoli, right wing Scott Sabourin (10-13=23) and defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk (6-17=23) are tied for eighth on the Monarchs with 23 points.

Toffoli has 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points in 45 games with the Kings. He was recalled to Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 18.

Bodnarchuk ranks second on the Monarchs and third in the AHL with a plus/minus rating of plus-33.

Right wing Zach O'Brien (7-14=21) ranks 11th on the Monarchs with 21 points.

Right wing Sean Backman (7-12=19) ranks 12th on the Monarchs with 19 points.

Defenseman Vincent LoVerde (2-15=17) and right wing James Livingston (6-11=17) are tied for 13th place on the Monarchs with 17 points each.

LoVerde leads the Monarchs and the AHL with a plus-36 rating.

Livingston registered his first points in a Monarchs uniform by scoring two goals against the Bruins on Saturday night.

Defenseman Andrew Campbell (3-10=13) is the all-time games played leader in Monarchs history with 407 games played. He is the only player in franchise history to play in at least 400 games.

Center Colin Fraser (3-1=4) made his Monarchs debut against the Springfield Falcons on Friday, February 21. The veteran forward has played in 358 National Hockey League games with the Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Chicago Blackhawks, and has two Stanley Cup championships on his resume.

Fraser scored his first goal in a Monarchs uniform in a 5-4 victory over the Pirates on Saturday, February 22. The last AHL goal he scored was for the Rockford IceHogs when he collected a goal and two assists in the team's 5-3 win over the Iowa Stars on April 13, 2008.

Goaltender Martin Jones made his NHL debut with the Kings against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday, December 3. He backstopped the Kings to a 3-2 shootout victory, including going 9-for-9 in the shootout.

Jones picked up his first NHL shutout by stopping all 16 shots he faced in the Kings 3-0 victory over the New York Islanders on Saturday, December 7.

The rookie netminder then stopped all 31 shots he faced in the Kings 6-0 shutout of the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday, December 10.

In 14 games with the Kings, Jones has collected a record of 9-4-0, a .934 save percentage, a 1.88 goals-against-average, and three shutouts. He was recalled to Los Angeles on Monday, February 24.

Jones' eight wins tied the NHL record for consecutive winning games to start an NHL career with netminder Bob Froese who won his first eight games with the Philadelphia Flyers during the 1982-83 season.

Jones is the first goaltender in NHL history to allow an average of less than one goal per game while winning the first eight appearances of his career.

Jones is the third goaltender in NHL history to record three shutouts in his first six starts. Goaltender Flat Walsh accomplished the feat with the New York Americans during the 1928-29 season and netminder Frank Brimsek did it with the Boston Bruins during the 1938-39 season.

Jones has an overall record of 16-3-3 with a 2.13 goals-against-average, a .928 save percentage, and two shutouts in 22 games with the Monarchs this season.

Jones leads all AHL goaltenders with a .928 save percentage this season and ranks third in the league with a goals-against-average of 2.13.

Jones ranks in the top 10 all-time in the following Monarchs goaltending categories:

Games played - 158 - first place

Wins - 84 - first place

Losses - 57 - first place

Ties/Shootout Losses - 10 - second place

Goals-against-average - 2.42 - eighth place

Save percentage - .921 - tied for seventh place

Shutouts - 12 - third place

Saves - 4,280 - first place

Goaltender Jean-Francois Berube registered a 14-8-2 record in 24 consecutive starts during Jones' first stint with the Kings.

Berube set a franchise record for consecutive appearances by a goaltender with 20 games on December 29. His current record-setting streak sits at 24 consecutive games. He surpassed the feat of 19 games set by netminders Travis Scott from February 19 - March 22, 2003, and Jason LaBarbera from November 19 - December 29, 2006.

Berube has collected a 22-14-2 record with a 2.44 goals-against-average and a .914 save percentage in 38 games with the Monarchs this season.

Berube is ranked fourth in the AHL with 2240:54 minutes played, third with 22 wins, and ranked ninth with 968 saves this season.

Berube recorded his first AHL shutout by stopping all 28 shots he faced in the Monarchs 6-0 win over the IceCaps on Saturday, January 18. He was recalled by the Kings for the first time on February 7. He was reassigned to Manchester on Monday, February 24.
