INSIDE THE SERIES

The Monarchs look to close out their North Division Semifinals matchup tonight and end the season of the Adirondack Thunder. Up to this point in the series, the Monarchs have used the third period to separate themselves from the Thunder, and have outscored their closest rival, 5-1, in the final frame.

MAKING THEM COUNT

The Monarchs were held to 16 shots on goal in their 2-1 victory over the Thunder on Thursday night, marking the fewest pucks put on net in a win for the Monarchs this season. Prior to Game 4, the low-water mark for shots on goal in a win was set Nov. 1 when the Monarchs beat the Thunder, 3-2.

PLAYING HIS BEST

Sam Brittain has elevated his game in the playoffs, and has been the backbone of the Monarchs through the first four games of the series. Brittain ranks third among goalies in the playoffs with a 0.940 save percentage and ranks fourth with a 1.77 goals against average. In his 36 regular season games with the Monarchs, Brittain posted an 0.896 save percentage and a 3.28 goals against average.

MAKING THE KILL

Despite being shorthanded 20 times this series, the Monarchs penalty kill has stood tall and has killed 90% of their chances. Manchester has now killed 16 consecutive penalties dating back to Game 2, including all 12 penalties inside the Glens Falls Civic Center. Adirondack's power play ranked 4th in the league during the regular season (24.2%), and in the final 11 head-to-head regular season games against the Monarchs, converted on 19-of-47 man advantages (40.4%).
