
Monarchs Assign Fukufuji To Reading

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have assigned goaltender Yutaka Fukufuji to the ECHL's Reading Royals, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today.
Fukufuji, 24, appeared in two games with the Monarchs last season, earning a 1-1-0 record, a goals-against-average of 3.00 and a save-percentage of .923. The 6-foot-1, 186-pound native of Tokyo, Japan, played in 29 games with the Royals during the 2005-06 season and collected a record of 15-9-4, a goals-against-average of 2.91 and a save-percentage of .917. Fukufuji was selected by the Kings in the eighth-round (238th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
The Monarchs host the Providence Bruins at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday, October 14.
