
Monarchs Announce 2013-14 Promotional Schedule

MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have released the team's 2013-14 promotional schedule featuring their annual New Year's Eve Celebration and Max's Birthday, as well as Mullets In Movember, Education Day and Pink In The Rink, Monarchs President Darren Abbott announced today.
Individual tickets for the 2013-14 season will go on sale to the public on Tuesday, October 1 at 9:30 a.m. and can be purchased by logging onto www.manchestermonarchs.com, by visiting the Verizon Wireless Arena Box Office or through Ticketmaster.com.
Opening Weekend, presented by AutoFair, features back-to-back home games in the Jungle as the Monarchs open up their 13th season in Manchester on Saturday, October 19 versus the Providence Bruins and Sunday, October 20 against the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at the Verizon Wireless Arena. Fans will receive a 2013-14 magnetic schedule, courtesy of Ray the Mover, on their way out following both games during Opening Weekend.
The Monarchs have brought back Canadian Heritage Night for the third consecutive season when the team hosts the Bruins in a 7:00 p.m. contest at the Verizon Wireless Arena on Saturday, November 2. The night will celebrate the strong Canadian and Franco-American heritage in New Hampshire and it will feature special Canadian food, music from Canadian artists and bilingual PA announcements.
The fourth annual Education Day game, presented by New Hampshire Higher Education Assistance Foundation, will turn the Verizon Wireless Arena into the largest classroom in the state of New Hampshire. Students throughout New England will join the Monarchs for the puck drop at 10:00 a.m. against the Norfolk Admirals on Wednesday, November 13.
The Monarchs Care Foundation will partner with Norris Cotton Cancer Center and The Movember Foundation to raise funds and awareness for the fight against men's cancers with Mullets In Movember on Saturday, November 16. The first 3,000 fans will receive mullet wigs and moustaches to wear as the Monarchs take on Norfolk at 7:00 p.m.
The annual New Year's Eve Celebration will be held on Tuesday, December 31 at 7:00 p.m. with the largest indoor fireworks display in New England following the Monarchs game against the Bruins. The first 3,000 fans in attendance on New Year's Eve will also receive a foam glow stick, courtesy of Manchester Subaru.
For the second straight year, the Monarchs will hold Los Angeles Kings Night on Saturday, January 25 at 7:00 p.m. Manchester will honor the Kings and all of the former Monarchs playing in Los Angeles. The team will be wearing specialty Kings-inspired jerseys that were voted on by the fans and will be available for auction. The team will face-off against the Portland Pirates in a VIP Cup match-up, presented by VIP Tires and Service, on Los Angeles Kings Night and the first 2,000 fans will receive a specialty Kings skate bank, courtesy of St. Mary's Bank.
The Monarchs Care Foundation is also teaming up with Catholic Medical Center to raise awareness and donations to fight breast cancer with the fourth annual Pink In The Rink game when the Monarchs face-off with Providence at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8.
Spend Valentine's Day with the Monarchs as they feature Twice Is Nice On Ice when they host the Worcester Sharks at 7:00 p.m. There will be a special vow renewal ceremony on the ice, presented by WZID. The first 1,000 ladies will also have a chance to win a diamond, courtesy of Bellman's Jewelers.
Join the Monarchs for American Pride Day at a special 3:00 p.m. start time on Saturday, March 8 against the Bruins as they celebrate our nation's armed forces, police, fire, and EMT personnel. The Monarchs will say Thank You in style with a post-game indoor fireworks show.
Max's Birthday celebration will be on Sunday, March 23 at 3:00 p.m. with the Hershey Bears in town as his friends and Monarchs fans throw him a Star Wars themed 13th birthday party.
The Monarchs will say thank you to their fans with Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, April 12 against the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. with giveaways all night long, including a special lunchbox giveaway for the first 2,000 fans, courtesy of Northeast Delta Dental.
