Modesto Nuts News Release
The Modesto Nuts rallied for two runs in the sixth inning Wednesday to beat the Bakersfield Blaze 4-3. Joe Gaetti drove in the tying run in the sixth inning off Blaze reliever Clint Brannon and then Erik Dean laid down a suicide squeeze to get the game winner home. Modesto came back from a 3-1 deficit to even their record at .500. Eudy Morel got the win by retiring the side in order in the sixth in relief of starter Aaron Marsden who gave up three runs in the first three innings, but hung around through the fifth. Jim Miller pitched the ninth inning and picked up his league-leading 11th save of the season.
Modesto's next game is Friday night against the San Jose Giants. Ubaldo Jimenez goes to the mound for the Nuts against the Giants Matt Kinney. Game time at John Thurman Field is 7:05 p.m.
