
Mobile Mashes Mississippi to Earn Second Straight Win

PEARL, Miss. - The Mobile BayBears, the Double-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, scored five runs in the first three innings and cruised to a 10-1 win over the Mississippi Braves Thursday night at Trustmark Park.
Alex Klonowski (6-2) gave up just one run on three hits in six innings pitched. It was his team-high fifth quality start.
The BayBears (50-51 overall, 13-20 second half) plated four runs in the second inning to grab an early lead. Mitch Ghelfi hit a sacrifice fly, Jahmai Jones followed with an RBI single, and then two runs scored on a throwing error.
Brennon Lund recorded his team-high 28th multi-hit game with three RBIs. Jose Rojas went 3-for-4 and scored a pair of runs.
Daniel Lockhart drove in the lone Mississippi (46-57, 17-16) run with a triple in the bottom of the fifth.
The BayBears wrap up the five-game road series against Mississippi Friday at 7:00 p.m. CDT. Right-handed pitcher Joe Gatto (3-4, 6.38 ERA) is scheduled to make the start against southpaw Bruce Zimmermann (2-1, 3.32 ERA) for the Braves.
