MLS-leading Chivas USA visits San Jose this Saturday in California Clásico

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, April 30, 2009) - Chivas USA, the top team in MLS with a 5-1-1 record, visits the San Jose Earthquakes this Saturday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. PT. After a 2-0 victory over FC Dallas this past Saturday, the Red-and-White now have 16 points, four ahead of Western Conference rival Seattle Sounders FC for the top spot in the league, while the Earthquakes are in fifth place in the West with a record of 1-3-2 (W-L-T) through their first six games. Chivas USA holds a 2-2-3 record (W-L-T) all-time against San Jose, having earned a record of two losses and two ties in 2005, and then two wins and a draw last season, when the Earthquakes returned to MLS. On the road, the Red-and-White have a 1-1-1 record against San Jose.
