MLS Disciplinary Committee Decisions Announced

October 23, 2020 - Major League Soccer (MLS) News Release


NEW YORK -The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found Inter Miami CF defender Leandro González Pírez guilty of simulation/embellishment. González Pírez has been fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in the 90+ minute of Miami's match against the Montreal Impact on Oct. 17.

The MLS Disciplinary Committee has found FC Cincinnati Head Coach Jaap Stam in violation of the league's policy regarding entering the field of play. The head coach been fined an undisclosed amount for his actions in the 43rd minute of Cincinnati's match against D.C. United on Oct. 18.

Houston Dynamo defender Adam Lundkvist has been suspended for two matches and fined an undisclosed amount for serious foul play in the 8th minute of Houston's match against Minnesota United FC on Oct. 18. Lundkvist will serve his suspensions during Houston's matches on Oct. 24 against Columbus Crew SC and on Oct. 28 against the Los Angeles Football Club.

The play was reviewed under Disciplinary Committee Parameter #3, in which the Disciplinary Committee may act where the Professional Referees Organization (PRO) acknowledges an on-field referee or Video Review error, and where the Committee is unanimous that the play warrants at least a one match suspension as a clear and unequivocal red card, is egregious and/or repeat behavior in nature, and/or the Committee must act to protect player safety or the integrity of the game.
