MLB Pitch, Hit and Run Competition Returns to Shaw Park

WINNIPEG - The official youth skills competition of Major League Baseball is returning to Shaw Park.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes will host the only Scotts Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run local competition in Manitoba on May 25 from 12-3 p.m. at Shaw Park.

For ages 7-14, the grassroots program is designed to provide youngsters with an opportunity to compete, free of charge, in a competition that recognizes individual excellence in core baseball/softball skills.

Competitors are divided into four age divisions: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including Team Championships at Major League ballparks and the National Finals at the 2013 MLB All-Star Game at Citi Field in New York.

The individual pitching, hitting and running champions, along with the all-around champion in each age group at the local competition will be awarded and advance to the section level of competition.

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate and fill out the registration/waiver form prior to the start of the competition.

Registration forms can also be picked up at the Goldeyes administration office at Shaw Park.
