Mitchell, Bertschy and Reilly Summoned to Saint Paul

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Wednesday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled forwards Christoph Bertschy (pronounced Burr-chee) and Zack Mitchell, and defenseman Mike Reilly from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL). The team also announced that it has placed defenseman Marco Scandella on long-term injured reserve due to a high right ankle sprain suffered on Oct. 27 at Buffalo.

Bertschy, 22 (4/5/94), has tallied one assist in three games with Minnesota and three points (1-23) in seven games with Iowa this season. The 5-foot-10, 186-pound native of Fribourg, Switzerland, notched his first career NHL point with an assist against Dallas on Oct. 29. He has recorded one assist in six career NHL contests with the Wild. Bertschy was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round (158th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and wears jersey No. 47 with Minnesota.

Mitchell, 23 (1/7/93), has recorded one goal in 11 games with Iowa this season. The 6-foot-1, 184-pound native of Orangeville, Ontario, tallied 42 points (22-2042) in 70 games with Iowa last season and led the team in goals and scoring, ranked second with 145 shots, T-2nd with five power-play goals and T-3rd in assists. He was signed as a free agent by the Wild on March 4, 2014, and has not appeared in a NHL game. Mitchell is in his third year with Iowa and ranks among the all-time team leaders in games played, goals scored, assists and total points. This marks his first NHL callup. In 157 games for Iowa, Mitchell has 40 goals and 38 assists for 78 points.

Reilly, 23 (7/13/93), ranks T-1st in scoring with seven points (1-67) and T-2nd with 22 shots in seven contests with Iowa this season. His point total ranks T-10th amongst AHL defensemen. The 6-foot-2, 193-pound defenseman has also appeared in two games with Minnesota this season. He posted seven points (1-67) in 29 games with Minnesota during his rookie campaign in 2015-16. The Chicago native and former University of Minnesota Golden Gopher also totaled 23 points (5-1823) in 45 games with Iowa last season, leading the team's defensemen and ranking T-13th amongst all AHL blueliners in scoring. Reilly was signed by the Wild as a free agent on July 1, 2015.
