Kamloops Blazers News Release
Kamloops, BC - The Kamloops Blazers have added 16-year-old forward Mitch Lipon to the roster for the remainder of the WHL playoffs. Lipon played this season with the Regina Pat Canadians of the Saskatchewan Midget Hockey League.
The Regina native recorded 20 goals and 51 points in 44 games this season. He added nine points in seven playoff games as the Pat Canadians were knocked out of the playoffs in the second round by the Saskatoon Contacts.
Lipon was listed by the Blazers following training camp this past September. The younger brother of 19-year-old Blazers' forward JC suited up for three WHL games with the Blazers earlier this season after the Christmas break.
The younger Lipon will wear #39 and arrive in time to practice with the Blazers today at 2:00pm.
To purchase tickets to Game 1 or Game 2 this Friday and Saturday of a best-of-seven Western Conference quarter-final series against the Victoria Royals, call the Blazers Box Office at 250-828-3339 or purchase online.
