Burlington Bees News Release

(Burlington, IA)- The Bees stranded a combined total of six runners in the fifth and sixth innings in a 1-0 loss to the Beloit Snappers on Saturday night at Community Field.

Beloit wasted no time, taking the lead in the first. Herschel Powell led off the game with a double and later scored on a ground out from Jaycob Brugman and the Bees trailed 1-0.

The Bees threatened in the fifth inning, loading the bases with one out after a single by Kody Eaves. Snappers' starter Lou Trivino went on to strike out the next two hitters, stranding the bases loaded.

Bases were once again loaded for the Bees in the sixth inning but were unable to scratch across a run. Beloit reliever Andres Avila faced nine Bees' hitters and set them all down in order as the Bees fell to Beloit 1-0.

Bees' starter Harrison Cooney (2-1) worked five innings allowing just one run and struck out four. Beloit starting pitcher Lou Trivino (1-2) picked up the win while Andres Avila (1) earned the save.

The Bees wrap up their home stand Sunday against the same Beloit Snappers at 2:00 PM. Ryan Etsell makes the start for the Bees and Kyle Finnegan starts for Beloit. For more information and to purchase tickets, please log on to www.gobees.com or call the Bees office at (319)-754-5705.
