July 2, 2022 - Major League Baseball Draft League (MLBDL)
Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
The Crosscutters left eight runners on base, failing to cash in on scoring chances late, in their 7-5 loss to the Scrappers in the middle game of the series.
Starter Wesley Scott allowed one unearned run over three innings of work, striking out four in a no decision.
Reliever JJ Sanchez took the loss, his 2nd, allowing four runs over a third of an inning. Sanchez struck out the first batter he faced and then allowed the next six to reach.
RF Cole Evans was the lone Cutters batter with a multi-hit game, finishing the night 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and a RBI.
1B Hogan McIntosh plated a pair with a double, finishing the night 1-for-5 with the double and 2 RBI.
Crosscutters pitching struck out 10 and walked 3 batters in the loss, as the Scrappers collected 13 hits, 12 of which were singles.
The Cutters offense finished the night 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position. Williamsport was held to just four hits, but drew eight walks in the loss.
For Williamsport, it is just their 3rd home loss at home, falling to 12-3 at Muncy Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.
