Miss L.A. to be crowned this at this Saturday's Galaxy game

CARSON, CA (Monday, October 10, 2005) - The Los Angeles Galaxy will crown Miss L.A. Galaxy 2006, in a competition presented by Cover Girl, this Saturday, October 15, at The Home Depot Center on the Campus of California State University - Dominguez Hills, the club announced today. The competition will begin at 5 pm and will be held on the main concourse of the soccer stadium.

The Miss L.A. Galaxy contest was created to recognize the females who are involved in their community, support community soccer and the Los Angeles Galaxy. Sunday's winner will be chosen based on her poise, confidence, public speaking abilities and academic success.

The Miss LA Galaxy contest consists of eleven (11) finalists who were selected for their personal accomplishments, service to the community, and academic success. The eleven young women competing for the top prize are: Kai Bent, Allison Conkright, Christina Gutierrez, Cecilia Jativa, Kelly Anne Judd, Joanna Navarro, Stephanie O'Brien, Kimberly Olson, Elizabeth Palomares, Kristin Pelham, Valerie Santos.

Galaxy fans are encouraged to get to know the contestants and cast their vote for their favorite Miss LA Galaxy 2006 finalist by going to www.lagalaxy.com until Friday, October 14 at 12 pm (PT).

The contest will consist of a sportswear competition, a segment where the contestants are asked Galaxy-specific trivia questions, and a formalwear competition that includes a personal interview.

The reigning Miss L.A. Galaxy, Amanda Lindholm, will also be in attendance. During her year's reign, she has accomplished a great deal on behalf of the club throughout the Southland, including: outreach efforts, media appearances and meeting with Galaxy fans.
