FORT MYERS, FL (May 7, 2006) -The Fort Myers Miracle had their second player promoted to Double-A New Britain as left-handed starter John Thomas got called up on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Thomas, who struggled at New Britain in 2005, began the 2006 season with the Miracle and proved himself ready to go back up to the Rock Cats. Thomas was 1-1, 4.01 in five starts with the Miracle. In 24.2 innings he walked just three and struck out 24 while the opposition hit .273 against him.
The Miracle have not yet replaced Thomas on the roster so their roster stands at 24 players, one less than the league maximum of 25.
