Jupiter Hammerheads News Release
The Jupiter Hammerheads bounced back from an extra inning loss against the Sarasota Reds with a 4-3 victory Sunday afternoon. Trevor Hutchinson started for the first time this season and did not factor into the decision. It was his best appearance of the season, throwing 4.0 innings and allowing two runs.
Jarrett Santos (1-1) got his first win of the season, pitching 3.0 innings and allowing one run. That one run was a home run by Hector Tiburcio in the 7th inning. Scott Nestor and Harvey Garcia came in for the 8th and 9th inning and closed the door on the Reds. Neither pitcher allowed a hit.
Brett Carroll, Juan Figueroa, and Brad McCann each had an RBI for the Hammerheads. Grant Psomas scored from third base in the second inning, when Dante Brinkley stole second base and the catcher threw wildly to centerfield.
The two teams have split the first two games of the series. Tomorrow's game is schedule to start at 7:05. Jose Garcia will pitch for the Hammerheads, and Homer Bailey will go for the Reds.
