FORT MYERS, Fla. (August 1, 2015) - The Fort Myers Miracle are pleased to team up with Keep On Playing to provide our local charities and community organizations with baseball equipment to use in baseball clinics for over 150 local children.

Three local charities have teamed up with the Keep On Playing Foundation, who will be attending the Miracle game on August 4 at 7:05 p.m. against the St. Lucie Mets. Keep On Playing will be bringing youths from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County, Collier County and the Heights Center. Keep On Playing and these three organizations will be partners and caretakers of baseball equipment so that baseballs and gloves will be at each center location; enabling youths to play baseball any day they are at one of these centers.

The Miracle have put together a special package for the kids that includes a ticket to the game, food, drinks and a glove or ball. Keep On Playing, founded by Marnie Schneider, is dedicated to not just getting children active in sports, but keeping kids involved in athletics.

"Playing sports and youth athletics are so important," said Schneider. "By suiting up with baseball teams to give kids an opportunity to attend a game, we have all the bases covered for a home run!"

The Rawlings baseballs that the Boys & Girls Clubs will be receiving were donated to Keep On Playing by Johnny Max Sporting Goods. The Rawlings gloves were donated to the Miracle by the Keep On Playing Foundation.

"We are pleased to partner with the Keep On Playing organization and Marnie Schneider to provide a great night out at Hammond Stadium for the children of our community," said Miracle Chief Operating Officer Steve Gliner. "They will be able to use these new gloves and balls at several local community centers, so they can play baseball all the time."

Schneider founded Keep On Playing after growing up in professional sports. Schneider's grandfather, Leonard Tose, owned the Philadelphia Eagles from 1969 to 1985. She worked at NFL Films and also has a background in acting. Schneider made a cameo as the first class flight attendant, Joyce, in The Wedding Singer.

Keep On Playing has scheduled sports clinics at each of the three community centers in the coming months.

The Miracle open the gates at 6 p.m. for a 2-for-1 Tuesday at Hammond Stadium. Fans can purchase buy one, get one tickets at the Miracle box office and also enjoy 2-for-1 hot dogs, domestic draft beers and fountain sodas through the seventh inning.

The Fort Myers Miracle is the Class A Advanced minor league baseball affiliate of the Minnesota Twins Major League Baseball club. Since moving to Fort Myers in 1992, the Miracle have qualified for the Florida State League Playoffs eight times, and won the Florida State League Championship in 2014. Home games are played at the CenturyLink Sports Complex/Hammond Stadium. The Fort Myers Miracle season begins in April and runs through September.
