Mira Laurence Joins Pacific Football Club Management Team

Victoria, BC - Pacific Football Club added Mira Laurence, long-time BC sportscaster, to their management team today. Laurence will take on the position of Director of Communications and Community Partnerships with the club for the inaugural 2019 season.

"I've been fortunate to be part of two media start ups, and the majority of my career has revolved around sports," said Laurence. "This is an incredible opportunity to come home to Vancouver Island to be part of something special, Pacific Football Club offers me a new challenge and opportunity to engage with the community."

Well known in Vancouver Island's sports and business communities, Laurence spent 13 years broadcasting sports at CTV and most recently covered the Vancouver Canucks on Sportsnet 650. Saskatchwan-born Laurence now considers Vancouver Island home after spending the bulk of her career in roles on the Island including stints with the University of Victoria Vikes and the HarbourCats.

"Mira is one of the best sports communicators in the business and will be a great fit for our organization."

Laurence's list of accolades in the community is long including being named among Vancouver Island's Top 20 Under 40 and being part of the advisory committee for the HarbourCats. Outside of her work in sports, Laurence served as the Executive Director of Headway, Victoria's epilepsy and parkinson's centre.

Laurence, who has been with Sportsnet 650 for nearly two years, will be responsible for managing the day-to-day communications for the club and the development of partnerships in the community. Next up for the club is Spring training that begins in March with the first game scheduled for April 28 against Halifax Wanderers FC at Westhills Stadium.
