Forge FC Releases 2019 Club Schedule

Forge FC is pleased to release the club's full 2019 schedule for the Canadian Premier League's inaugural season. Forge FC matches begin with the first-ever CPL game April 27 vs. York9 FC at 1 p.m. at Tim Hortons Field through to the end of the Fall competition October 16 vs. Cavalry FC at 7 p.m. at Tim Hortons Field. The season will be 28 regular season games (14 home, 14 away) and will be separated into two distinct halves; Spring competition (10 games) and Fall competition (18 games).

KEY FORGE FC HOME DATES:

- CPL Inaugural Match - April 27 vs. York9 FC at 1 p.m.

- Hamilton Soccer Hall of Fame Game - May 11 vs. Cavalry FC at 6 p.m.

- Black & Gold Game - June 15 vs. Valour FC at 6 p.m.

SCHEDULING :

- The Spring competition season will run from April 27 to July 1 (Canada Day) using Canada's national holiday appropriately to celebrate the first portion of the 2019 season and our league for Canadians by Canadians

- All seven clubs will play 10 matches in the Spring competition

- The Fall competition season will run from July 6 to October 19

- All seven clubs will play 18 matches in the Fall competition following the table reset on July 2

FORMAT :

- Each CPL club will play 28 regular season games (14 home, 14 away) split over two halves of the 2019 season

- All clubs will play against one another at least four times, and at most five times in the regular season

- The season will be separated into two distinct halves to crown winners that will advance to the two-legged Canadian Premier League 2019 Championship

- All seven clubs will compete in a single table

o 3 points for a victory

o 1 point for a draw

o 0 points for a loss

- The winner of the Spring competition will be the club with the most points at the end of the season on Canada Day (July 1) and will be the first club playing in the Canadian Premier League 2019 Championship

- The winner* of the Fall competition will be the club with the most points on October 19 following the table reset on July 2 and will be the second club playing in the Canadian Premier League 2019 Championship (*If same team wins, next highest cumulative point total across both competitions earns berth)

In 2019, Canada Soccer will use the first two home and away matches in the CPL regular season between FC Edmonton, Forge FC and Valour FC to determine who advances to the Preliminary Round of the 2019 Scotiabank Concacaf League. Consistent with seeding for the Canadian Championship based on membership, these three inaugural teams will be provided with a unique opportunity for this season to earn the Canada 2 spot in Scotiabank Concacaf League for 2019.
