December 9, 2014 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Minot Minotauros News Release
The Minotauros have signed their second player to a tender for the 2015-16 season, defenseman Colton Berg. In signing the Minnesota product today the Tauros have taken another step in building for next season.
Berg, a native of Centerville, MN was a member of the Minnesota Blades during his fall season and is now playing for Centennial High School. In twenty two games this fall with the Blades Berg recorded five goals and ten assists. As a six-foot-one, 177 pound defenseman, Berg is another big body the Tauros are looking forward to having. "Colton fits the mold of the type of player we want to bring into Minot. His hockey IQ, skill set, and determination are the intangibles we feel will be a valuable addition to our program" said Head Coach and General Manager Marty Murray.
"Coach Shermoin has been open and upfront regarding his players. We feel those coming out of the Blades program will be junior hockey ready" added Murray. Berg will play the remainder of the High School season with Centennial before returning again to the Blades to finish out the 2014-15 season. The coaching and scouting staff has watched Berg develop over a great length of time and liked what they saw; Berg is excited about the signing as he says. "I am extremely excited to continue playing the game I love with the Minot Minotauros."
The Minotauros coaching staff will continue to scout and sign players to tenders throughout the season, while also building a draft board. For more tender signings and all of the latest Tauros news on and off the ice be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook.
