
Minnesota Wild Agrees to Terms with Forward Michael Keranen on a One-Year Contract

DES MOINES, IA - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Friday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has agreed to terms with forward Michael Keranen (pronounced Kear-uh-nin) on a two-way contract for the 2015-16 season.
Keranen, 25 (1/4/90), tallied 37 points (10-27=37) in 70 games during his first season of hockey in North America with the Iowa Wild in the American Hockey League (AHL) in 2014-15. He led Iowa in assists, ranked T-2nd in scoring and was third in shots (147). The 6-foot-1, 176-pound native of Stockholm, Sweden, recorded 52 points (17-35=52), 47 penalty minutes (PIM) and a plus-12 rating in 52 games for Ilves Tampere in Finland's Elite League in 2013-14. He ranked tied for first in the league in scoring and tied for second in assists and received the Lasse Oksanen Award given to the best player during the regular season.
Iowa begins its third season in the AHL this fall. The team will host Opening Night on Saturday, Oct. 10. The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team's 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play its 2015-16 season at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
