GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. (October 28, 2013) - Minnesota United FC striker Pablo Campos was named the North American Soccer League Fall Week 12 Player of the Week for his play in United's 3-1 win over the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers Saturday night at the National Sports Center in Blaine.

"I would like to say that it was a great game to close the season out for the fans and still get a big victory at home," said Campos of the achievement. "It was nice to get a win like that and have something to look forward to for next year, not only for the team, but for all our fans as well. It was a great team win."

Campos put on a dominating performance, scoring two goals and adding an assist in the victory. He scored his 10th goal of the 2013 season in the 10th minute. Lucas Rodriguez sent a ball into the box where Campos was able to split two defenders and finish from the top of the six-yard box. Campos added his assist on an Aaron Pitchkolan goal in first half stoppage-time, giving United a 2-1 lead at the half. Off a corner piece, Campos headed the ball down to Pitchkolan just inside the six-yard box and Pitchkolan made a sliding kick that found the back of the net.

Campos finished the game with his second goal of the night in the 74th minute when he muscled his way through several Striker defenders to punch home his 11th goal on the season.

Campos, the 2012 NASL MVP, heads into the final weekend of the 2013 regular season leading the club and ranking fourth in the NASL with 11 goals. He trails Carolina's Brian Shriver (13 goals) by two in the race for the NASL Golden Boot for the league's top scorer. Campos leads the club and is tied for fifth in the league with five assists, and is also tied for fifth in the NASL in minutes played with 1,260.

Minnesota United finishes the 2013 regular season Saturday, 6:30 PM in Tampa Bay. United is 1-1-1 against the Rowdies this season, including a 3-2 victory at Al Lang Stadium on May 25. Fans can watch the game at the Official Watch Party at Brit's Pub in Minneapolis, or online at MNUnitedFC.com.
