October 28, 2013 - North American Soccer League (NASL) News Release

MIAMI, Fla. (October 28, 2013) - Minnesota United forward Pablo Campos fired two goals and assisted on a third to lead his side to a 3-1 victory over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers and claim NASL Player of Week 13 Fall Season honors.

The Brazilian striker also joined the race for the NASL Golden Boot - the top scorer in the North American Soccer League in 2013 - and now has 11 total goals, just two shy of leader Brian Shriver of the Carolina RailHawks.

Campos opened the scoring after 10 minutes, as he was able to split two defenders and fire past visiting keeper Richard Sanchez. During first half injury time Campos added an assist when he headed down a corner for captain Aaron Pitchkolan to score. With 16 minutes remaining and the score at 2-1, Campos made the three points safe with a moment of close control and a poked finish while under pressure from two defenders for his second goal of the night.

"It was nice to get a win like that and have something to look forward to for next year, not only for the team, but for all our fans as well. It was a great team win."

Campos was also named NASL Player of Week 10 during the 2013 Spring Season. He played with the Carolina RailHawks (2011) and San Antonio Scorpions (2012) before joining United FC in January. A native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, he has also see action with the San Jose Earthquakes and Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer, where he won the MLS Cup, as well as with Swedish club GAIS.
