
Minnesota United Sign Two Players to MNUFC2

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - MNUFC2 announced today the club has signed defender Jason Ramos and forward Tommy Williamson to an MLS NEXT Pro professional contract, pending league and U.S. Soccer Federation approval.
"We're very excited to get our first two signings in for MNUFC2 and to work through what this roster will look like for our first season in MLS NEXT Pro," said MNUFC2 Head Coach Cameron Knowles. "This team will be about providing opportunities for our young first team players to get minutes, provide a professional environment for our academy players and compete. We're starting a new team and that means that there's a lot of spots to fill and Jason [Ramos] and Tommy [Williamson] are the just the beginning."
Ramos joins MNUFC after two seasons with the Chattanooga Red Wolves of the USL League One where he played 42 games, two playoff appearances and scoring three goals. In 2021, the centerback was named to the USL League One All-League First Team and was a finalist Defender of the Year. He ranked second among outfield players with 211 recoveries and third among the league's defenders with a +5.67 Goals Added mark as he notched 15 key passes with a goal and an assist when joining the attack.
Williamson was drafted by the San Jose Earthquakes with the 12th pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft. The forward spent the 2021 season on loan to the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL Championship where he played 27 games, scoring six goals in his first professional season. The Cal-State Berkley graduate played three seasons with the Bears and was standout in his junior year in 2019, scoring a career-high nine goals in the season. That season he earned All PAC-12 Honors and was a PAC-12 All-American Honorable Mention.
