Minnesota United FC News Release

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - The Loons head West to California for a late-night match against the San Jose Earthquakes, who currently have a 7-2-4 (W-L-D) record at home. Given its impressive form at home, Minnesota United face quite the challenge on Saturday but also bring momentum of its own with one of the best away records in the league. The Loons, with their recent victory over the Colorado Rapids, enter the game unbeaten through five matches while the Earthquakes lost at home on Wednesday to LA Galaxy. Minnesota and San Jose are tied with 35 points, sitting seventh and eighth in the table, giving both sides the ability to jump to fourth place with a win.

HEAD COACH ADRIAN HEATH ON THREE GAMES IN EIGHT DAYS AND THE TIGHT TURNAROUND FROM WEDNESDAY TO AN AWAY GAME ON SATURDAY...

"They're [San Jose Earthquakes] very good at home. [Cristian] Espinoza is having a great year. Cade Cowell: Big, powerful, strong, quick. Luchi's [Gonzalez] done a good job, they've got an identity now with the way they're going to play. It's never easy on the road in this league but I know that we've been there [San Jose] and won in the past and we can do it again if we play well."

MIDFIELDER ISMAEL TAJOURI-SHRADI ON GETTING A RESULT AGAINST SAN JOSE CONSIDERING ITS IMPRESSIVE HOME FORM...

"We know San Jose [Earthquakes] is a very tough team to play against, especially at home, but we know what we can do. We showed that in the last few weeks, few months that we are [good] at home and even better away. We need to keep doing what we've been doing, we're just going to add some other things so we can get the right result at home but also away. San Jose is going to be very tough, but I think the team is ready for it, to get another three points away. But before that, we need to get through our home game, focus on that one and then focus for the San Jose game."

STORYLINES PRESENTED BY BMW

Storylines is impressed by this weekend's opponents, plain and simple. Not just by what they've got going on right now, but by what their franchise has accomplished in years past. They've seen some of the best forwards in league history don their colors, creating quite the legacy of attacking excellence on their way to two MLS Cup titles.

Though they've popped in and out of the league a few times, soccer in San Jose has been a staple of Major League Soccer since the early days, and they've built quite the resume of stars leading their line. Notable names like Eric Wynalda and Ronald Cerritos racked up the goals for the Quakes, as did MNUFC's Chief Soccer Officer, Manny Lagos. [READ MORE]
