MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - Minnesota Lynx Head Coach and General Manager Cheryl Reeve today announced the team has waived guards Linnae Harper and Erica Ogwumike. The move was done so in compliance with the upcoming roster finalization date, which is tomorrow, May 26.
Harper, who was signed to a training camp roster spot, last played for the Chicago Sky in 2018. In her rookie campaign, she averaged 2.0 points on 40.4% shooting, 0.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 24 games. The 5-8 guard played overseas in Latvia this winter for TTT Riga.
Ogwumike was acquired on draft night from New York in exchange for forward Stephanie Talbot. The Rice University graduate played in and started 27 games in her senior season, averaging a career-best 19.0 ppg and 10.3 rpg. She finished her collegiate career ranked first in scoring average (11.7 ppg), second in rebounding (10.1 rpg), third in free throw percentage (81.4) and fifth in career rebounds (905).
