Minnesota Lynx Waive Guard Sharneé Zoll

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The Minnesota Lynx released guard Sharneé Zoll today. Zoll was signed by the Lynx as a free agent on May 18. Minnesota's roster now stands at 12 players.

Zoll averaged 1.7 ppg in six games for the Lynx, including a career-high five points May 27, 2008 vs. Houston.

Zoll, a 5-foot-7 guard from Virginia, was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks in the third round (29th overall) of the 2008 WNBA draft. Zoll wrapped up her illustrious Cavalier career by becoming the Atlantic Coast Conference's all-time assists leader (785 career assists) and leading the 2007-08 squad to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Zoll broke the 16-year-old record held by former Virginia and WNBA great Dawn Staley (729 career assists).
