Minnesota Lynx News Release
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - In celebration of Women's History Month and Minnesota's historic 25th anniversary season, the Lynx will unveil the All-25 Team in franchise history every Monday throughout the month of March.
Beginning Monday, March 6, five players will be announced via Lynx social channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram), highlighting their contributions to the Lynx franchise on and off the court. Qualifications for the top 25 honor are strictly statistical and award-based and comprised of players who have scored 1,000+ points, grabbed 500+ rebounds, started 50+ games, were members of 2+ WNBA Championship teams, represented the Lynx in the WNBA All-Star Game and/or were end-of-season WNBA award winners while wearing a Lynx uniform. Throughout the season, fans will also have the opportunity to vote on the top 25 moments in Lynx history.
As announced earlier this month, the Lynx will host a weekend-long commemoration June 9-11 with a 25th anniversary game (June 9) and the jersey retirement of Lynx center Sylvia Fowles (June 11). Former Lynx players and legends will return to Target Center with a special postgame ceremony spotlighting each player's impact and historic accomplishments. The franchise will also host "Whay Day" (August 4), celebrating four-time WNBA champion Lindsay Whalen's Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame induction. Whalen will be honored during a pregame ceremony, unveiling a new banner. Whalen retired in 2018 after 15 seasons in the WNBA, ending her career as the winningest player in WNBA history.
