Minnesota Lynx Issues Statement on Achonwa

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL - The four-time WNBA Champion Minnesota Lynx issued the following statement regarding the pregnancy announcement released by forward Natalie Achonwa today:

Lynx Head Coach and President of Basketball Operations Cheryl Reeve: "On behalf of Lynx players, coaches and staff, I want to share a heartfelt congratulations to Natalie and her family. Being a parent is an exceptional joy and we wish Natalie a healthy pregnancy."

Selected ninth overall in the 2014 WNBA draft by the Indiana Fever, Achonwa signed with Minnesota as a free agent ahead of the 2021 season. The three-time Olympian with Canada Basketball (2012, 2016, 2020) and 2019 WNBA Community Assist Award recipient recorded an average of 5.3 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 15.1 minutes per game in 22 contests with the Lynx in the 2022 season.
