Minnesota Lynx News Release

Minneapolis/St. Paul - Minnesota Lynx guard Seimone Augustus will host a free basketball clinic on Saturday, Dec. 29, at Capitol Middle School in her hometown of Baton Rouge, La., from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to benefit Streams of Life, a food bank affiliate of Feed The Children.

Streams of Life distributes approximately 70,000 to 80,000 pounds of food per month to agencies that assist inner-city families, mentally handicapped adults, single moms, veterans, rehab homes, and the working poor.

The free basketball clinic is open to the first 80 boys and girls in grades 4-8 with a signed waiver who arrive with a donation of five canned goods or five non-perishable items. Participants of the camp will each receive basketball instruction, a camp T-shirt and an autograph from Augustus. Waivers will be available at the camp during registration and at Augustus' website at www.seimone33.com.

"During this holiday season, I feel extremely privileged to be able to give back to the Baton Rouge community, which has supported me throughout my basketball career," Augustus said. "I will always feel a desire to give back to the people of Baton Rouge. The donations from this clinic will help several underserved families in and around Baton Rouge and hopefully bring some holiday cheer."

In addition to canned foods and other non-perishable items, parents and supporters can provide prizes (gift cards, sports equipment or other age-appropriate gifts) or refreshments for the kids attending the camp. For more information or to download the waiver, visit www.seimone33.com.

The Minnesota Lynx will celebrate their 10th Anniversary in 2008. For more information, call 612-673-8400 or visit www.lynxbasketball.com.
