LAST NIGHT'S GAME Los Angeles 90, Minnesota 78 The Minnesota Lynx fought hard for the full forty minutes, but in the end the Los Angeles Sparks showed the poise that has carried them to five straight wins and a league-best 18-5 record. Lisa Leslie scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and Chamique Holdsclaw added 20 points to lead the Sparks. The Lynx were led by Seimone Augustus' 25 points, Amber Jacobs' 13 points, and Svetlana Abrosimova's ten points and seven rebounds. Minnesota never led after the first quarter but Los Angeles' lead to as little as six points within the last two minutes. In the end, the turnover margin cost the Lynx as they committed 18 turnovers to the Sparks' seven.
NEXT GAME Chicago at Minnesota - Wednesday, July 19, at Target Center (12:00 p.m.) Wednesday marks the first meeting between the Lynx and the expansion Chicago Sky. In their inaugural season, the Sky has experienced all the growing pains that come with being a first-year team. Currently they stand in last place in the Eastern Conference at 3-17. There have, however, been bright spots in the season for the Sky. Candice Dupree, the sixth overall pick in the 2006 WNBA Draft, has proven herself to be a star in the making. Dupree leads the Sky in scoring at 13.5 ppg and was named to the Eastern Conference All-Star team as a reserve. In a recent win over the New York Liberty on July 7, She recorded a career-high 20 points and also pulled down a game-high six rebounds. Wednesday's game is the Lynx' annual Kids Day and will have an early 12:00 p.m. start time.
LYNX HOST LUNCH LEARNERS ETIQUETTE LESSON On Tuesday July 18, the Minnesota Lynx Foundation will host a Lunch Learners etiquette lesson at the Melting Pot restaurant in downtown Minneapolis at 2:00 p.m. The event will include narrative by Timberwolves broadcaster Lea B. Olson and several Lynx players. One player will be seated at each table. Forty kids from Athletes Committed to Educating Students (A.C.E.S.) will be learning proper dining etiquette, how to fondue, and the inner workings of fondue restaurant. Players and Melting Pot staff will answer questions asked by Lea ranging from what to wear to a restaurant, what do you do with your napkin, how much to tip, and many other questions. Kelly Bailey, The Melting Pot owner will speak about her restaurant and how it differs from other restaurants.

Proceeds will go towards the WNBA Cares program. Through WNBA Cares, the WNBA creates programs that help to inspire people of all ages with a special emphasis on promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, raising awareness for women's health issues, and providing educational resources for kids, families and community organizations. Bidding ends Tuesday, July 18 at 8:20 p.m.
