Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release
GARY, Ind. - In game 100 of 100 during the 2021 season, the Milwaukee Milkmen (59-41) held off the Gary SouthShore RailCats (39-61) with a 2-1 final as the RailCats' 2021 campaign came to a close.
Milkmen starter Robbie Gorden threw seven scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and striking out nine in the win.
Despite seven strong innings from Aaron Phillips in his second start of the year, Phillips would suffer the loss with two runs on six hits while striking out three.
In the third, Adam Brett Walker II extended his single-season home run record with a two-run shot, his thirty-third homer of the year to put the Milkmen on top.
The RailCats were held silent through the first eight innings, but nearly came back in the ninth after an Alec Olund pinch hit, RBI-single.
The Milwaukee Milkmen will continue their season in the North Division Wild Card Game against the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks after finishing third in the North while the Gary SouthShore RailCats culminate their season in sixth place of the North and tenth place of the American Association.
